1. Overview
ClipNest stores clipboard history and related organizational data locally in your browser profile. ClipNest does not require an account and does not operate a cloud service for storing your clipboard history.
2. Data stored locally
Depending on the features you use, ClipNest may store clipboard text, detected content type, timestamps, favorites, pins, tags, collections, templates, local preferences, usage counts, backup settings, excluded domains, and security configuration in the browser’s local storage or IndexedDB.
3. Clipboard content
Clipboard content captured or manually saved by ClipNest is intended to remain on your device. ClipNest does not transmit your clipboard history to an external ClipNest server.
4. Protected clips
If you enable protected clips, selected entries can be encrypted locally. Your PIN is used to derive encryption material and is not intended to be stored as readable plaintext. If you lose the PIN required to unlock protected entries, those encrypted entries may not be recoverable.
5. Backups
If you create an export, the resulting backup file is saved where you choose through your browser or operating system. Encrypted backup files are processed locally. You are responsible for storing exported backups securely.
6. Analytics, advertising and tracking
ClipNest does not include advertising, behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics intended to profile your clipboard activity.
7. Browser permissions
ClipNest requests browser permissions only to provide extension functionality such as reading clipboard content when you explicitly capture it, writing a selected clip back to the clipboard, storing local history, running clipboard-related extension logic, and supporting capture on permitted webpages. Browser restrictions may prevent clipboard access on protected or internal pages.
8. Sensitive fields and excluded websites
ClipNest includes safeguards intended to avoid automatic capture from password and other recognized sensitive fields, and lets you exclude domains from automatic capture. No automated safeguard can identify every sensitive value, so you should review your settings and stored history when working with confidential information.
9. Data deletion
You can delete individual clips, clear history, remove templates or collections, and remove the extension. Removing browser extension data may permanently delete locally stored ClipNest information unless you have created a separate backup.
10. Children’s privacy
ClipNest is a general productivity utility and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as ClipNest evolves or as browser platform requirements change. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
